Barcelona Thrash Madrid To Win Record-Extending Supercopa

Barcelona has thrashed Real Madrid 3-1 in the Supercopa de Espana final to hand Xavi  his first major trophy at the King Fahad Stadium in Riyadh.

Barcelona were by the far the better side in the first half and deservedly ended the interval with two goals in a one sided El Clasico encounter on Sunday.

The second instalment was not any different as Barca stamped their authority, even more so getting the third goal to round off a superb performance.

Spanish Teenage sensation Gavi gave Barcelona the lead in the 33rd minute and then put one on a plate for Lewandowski to increase the tally just before halftime. He then provided for Pedri who tapped home the third to complete a resounding victory for the Catalan giants.

Karim Benzema netted a late consolation for the European and LaLiga champions in the dying embers as they slumped to a comfortable defeat.

The Blaugrana’s have now won the Supercopa for a record-extending 14th times and their first major trophy in two years.
