Bawumia thanks Otumfuo for his ‘sound words’ of advice

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has thanked the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his words of advice to him and the party when the running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh was introduced to him on Tuesday, July 9.

The Asantehene had advised  Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh to follow the instruction of his boss at all times.

He asked Dr Opoku Prempeh, a royal, to support his boss to ensure that Dr Bawumia does not regret choosing him as his running mate.

“I have watched Opoku Prempeh grow,” the Asantehene said, he added, “Don’t let Bawumia regret choosing you, follow him with humility.”

He further urged Dr Bawumai to inform him whenever Dr. Opoku Prempeh does not behave well in rider to correct him.

“Whatever mistake comes let me know so I correct him,” he said.

In a Facebook post after the unveiling event, Dr Bawumai said “Along with National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, other National Executives and a broad section of the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom), I accompanied H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to Manhyia Palace, Kumasi, where he formally presented the NPP Presidential ticket (Myself and my Running Mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh) for the 2024 Presidential Elections, to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II today.

“We were subsequently introduced by the President formally to the Party at a mini rally at the Jubilee Park. With the NPP ticket complete, it is time, now more than ever, for us to close ranks and work assiduously to ensure resounding victory in the coming polls.

“I am most grateful to Otumfuo for his sound words of advice to me and the party in general. Let’s get to work from today. It is Possible!”
