Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II has indicated that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s election as flagbearer for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a big responsibility for him
He says he and other Northerners are proud of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s trajectory in politics and making history as the first flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party from the North of Ghana.
Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II whose speech was read on his behalf indicated that the elevation is a testament to the fact that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been exceptional in his contribution to the development of Ghana and his political party.
“This is a big responsibility that has been placed on your head and I pray that you’ll be up to the task and carry out your duties as successfully as you can…My son, your elevation is not a surprise to Ghanaians who follow our political development. Your contributions to your political party and development provide ample reasons why you should be elevated to lead your political party,” he said.
Yaa Naa reminded the Vice President that his work to prove that he can lead the political [arty starts now indicating that he will have to bring all persons on board to ensure that the party goes into election 2023 as a united force.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is on a two-day tour of the Northern, Savannah and North East Region to thank various stakeholders following his November 4 victory at the NPP Presidential primaries.
