betPawa Premier League: Hearts Of Oak Defeat Medeama In Tarkwa For The First Time Since 2016

Accra Hearts of Oak have beaten Medeama SC at the Akoon Park for the first time in as many games since 2016.

Hearts edged out the hosts by a loan goal in a keenly contested encounter that saw little chances created by both sides.

The Phobians gradually grew into the contest and got the reward for their dominance after 33 minutes when Kwadwo Obeng Jnr poked home from close range following some confusion in the box.

Medeama made frantic efforts to find their way back into the game right after the restart with Kwadwo Amoako hitting the woodwork while Nurudeen Abdulai headed wide from close range.

The two sides traded jabs but it was Medeama that had most of the ball but failed to create clear-cut chances as Hearts of Oak soaked up the pressure and protected their narrow lead until the final whistle.

The results sends Hearts Of Oak level on points (24) with leaders Aduana Stars while Medeama occupy the 11th spot with 17 points.
