Beverly Afaglo responds firmly to those who label her bitter and irrelevant

Beverly Afaglo

Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, Beverly Afaglo, has taken to her social media platforms to indirectly respond to comments made about her in the media following a recent interview she gave.

Reportedly, during an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Beverly expressed her belief that some of the actresses who gained fame in the movie industry while she took a break to focus on her marriage are now seeking life partners themselves.

Her statement led publicist and PR manager Alexander Fiifi Abeka, also known as Xerda, to express on Facebook that he believes Beverly is one of the most bitter actresses in Ghana.

This Facebook post sparked numerous reactions from Xerda’s followers who shared similar opinions about Beverly’s bitterness and relevance.

The situation caught the attention of MzGee, the host of United Showbiz, who asked Beverly about the post when she appeared as a guest on the show on August 5, 2023.

In response, Beverly clarified that her remarks in the media were taken out of context and explained her viewpoint.

Other panel members on the show, including Mr. Logic, Ola Michael, and Abeiku Santana, also criticized the post for its negative tone towards Beverly.

Despite her explanations on the TV show, Beverly took to her social media to emphasize her uniqueness and independence from others’ opinions.

In a lengthy post, she wrote: “My name is Beverly Afaglo. I am a sincere and genuine person. I am authentic and real; I don’t pretend or fake. I am just being myself. I’m a Gemini, so I can be very direct and honest, which some people find hard to handle, resulting in them labeling me. I’m not seeking popularity or trends; I’ve had enough of those in my lifetime. You have no idea how many interviews my management and I turn down regularly. I dislike interviews because I’m straightforward, and some people take offense when I speak the truth, so I avoid them.”

She continued: “If you manage to get me on your show, it means you persisted and earned my respect. If I’m not relevant, I won’t be invited to events or appearances. People know that mentioning me drives traffic for them. To writers and commentators, use decorum when writing about me, as this brand was built over 16 years of hard work. Please don’t use my name to gain attention and then dismiss me as a nobody. I am Beverly Afaglo; don’t compare me to your favorites. Let my favorites love me for who I am. Hating someone you don’t even know is wrong. Enough, please. Thank you.”
