The Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, has declared unequivocally that the players of the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars, appreciate the support and love that Ghanaians offer the team during match days.

The Black Stars are set to kick off their campaign with a home match against Angola on Thursday, September 5, at 16:00 GMT. Following this, the team will travel to Berkane, Morocco, for their second Group F game against Niger on September 9.

While urging fans to fill the Baba Yara Stadium against Angola, Henry Asante Twum insisted the players have never taken the support from Ghanaians for granted.

“Ghanaians have been supportive over the years, and we don’t think it will change this time. The players always discuss Ghanaians’ support for the Black Stars whenever they are in camp, and they are not taking it for granted. We appreciate that support. We will plead with them to troop to the stadium in their numbers to cheer the team up so we can start the qualifiers on a good note,” he said in an interview.
