Brazil thrashed Ghana 3-0 in a Pre-World Cup friendly game at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France on Friday night.
Marquinhos put the Seleção ahead in the opening minutes, while Richarlison hit a brace before halftime in an eventful first half for the Black Stars of Ghana.
Coach Otto Addo fielded a rather familiar lineup — similar to the lineup that defeated Nigeria on away goals to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, to face the world number one team before bringing on his new boys to steady the ship.
The South American giants were in cruise control just after nine minutes of proceedings. Paris Saint-Germain defensive stalwart Marquinhos got the opener through a thumping header from a corner kick.
Richarlison extended the lead 19 mins later with a one time shot from the edge of the penalty box. He added the third before halftime to complete a perfect first half for Brazil.
Otto Addo introduced Salisu Mohammed and Inaki Williams after the restart before bringing on Tariq Lamptey and Antoine Semenyo minutes later. The change brought a bit of balance to the team and suppressed the onslaught from a star studded Brazilian side.
Regardless of the score line, it was generally a good test for Ghana in particular. The Black Stars will take on Nicaragua in their next World Cup preparatory game on Tuesday.
