BREAKING: 3 Children Die After Drowning In An Abandoned Sand Winning Pit At Tuba

A sad incident occurred early hours of Sunday, where 3 children got drowned in an abandoned sand winning pit at Tuba, in the Greater Accra region.

The three children drowned in an abandoned sand pit at Akwasa, also known as Eric Addo Estates in Tuba, the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra region.

An attempt by two of the children to rescue a colleague who had fallen into the pit while playing with a bicycle led in the trapping of all three, who were later discovered dead.

The police transported all three remains to the Police Hospital in Accra, where they are awaiting autopsies.

Some eyewitnesses have spoken to Obaatanpa News about how the situation played out.

They have also expressed concern about how sand-winning operations have impacted inhabitants of Eric Addo Estates, a Tuba suburb in the Ga South Municipality. They claim that after many complaints to authorities, nothing was done until the sad tragedy occurred.

At the homes of the three children, Elisha Adu, 12, Samuel Adjei Mensah aka Tawiah, 9, and Isaac Amoah, 8, sadness and sorrow are welcome atmospheres as family members have assembled to grieve the souls of these innocent children.

The mother of twin brothers Elisha Adu, 12, and Samuel Adjei Mensah, 9, could not even open up about the tragedy because the death of her children seemed to have overshadowed her.

Esther Dankwaa, the mother of Isaac Amoah, one of the victims, tells Obaatanpa News about the tragedy.
