BUNDESLIGA: Daniel Kofi Kyereh Receive Support From Freiburg After Being Ruled Out For The Rest The Season

Black Stars and Freiburg midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh has been ruled out of the 2022/23 season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

The 26-year-old picked up the serious injury during a training session ahead of SC Freiburg’s clash with VFB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Freiburg went on to defeat Stuttgart 2-1 over the weekend. Stuttgart opened the scoring in the first 30 minutes before Vincenzo Grifo converted twice from the penalty spot to claim all three points for the hosts.

Even before the game teammates wore pre-game shirts with Kyereh’s name and jersey number on it. Grifo made it even special when he celebrated one of his goals by holding the Ghanaian jersey number 11 shirt.

The ACL injury could see the former St. Pauli player miss the rest of the season.

Since his return from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Kyereh has scored three goals with an assist in 19 games across all competitions. He joined Freiburg from lower division side St. Pauli ahead of the season.
