C/R: MAN ARRESTED AT BUDUBRAM IN ATTEMPT TO SELL NIECE FOR CANADIAN VISA

30 year old man Nana Kofi Amofa , alias Kofi Yesu has been arrested by the Central East Regional Police Intelligence Unit(PID) while attempting to sell his Senior brother’s 6 year -old -daughter for GHC150,000 to acquire visa to Canada.

The suspect was arrested yesterday around 10:00pm at Gomoa Buduburam near Obolo estate.

Police says, they had information that, the suspect has expressed desire to sell the six year old girl (name withheld) to get money to travel to Canada, so police dispatched men leading to his arrest.

Sources say, officers from the Police Intelligence Unit, contracted a man as a buyer who express interest of buying the victim and during their conversation ,the suspect demanded Ghc150,000 which is (1.5 billion old cedis).

After the arrest, the suspect confirmed that, the victim a daughter of his senior brother, Kwadwo Brako who is currently in his Home Town at Nyamebekyere a village near Akyem Ayirebi in the Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency of the Eastern Region.

Upon interrogation, the suspect revealed that, the girl was living with her parents at Nyamebekyere and ask the girl to come and stay with him to have access to better education not knowing he is going to sell the little girl and used the money to travel to Canada.

Currently the little girl and the suspect has been handed over to Kasoa Dovvsu department for further investigations.
