The National Democratic Congress Members in the Gomoa East Constituency led by their Organizer Hon. Hassan Hamidu has condemned some comments made by the Central Regional Communications Officer describing the Central Regional Minister Designate Hon. Ekow Okyere Panyin as not competent enough to hold the position as the Regional Minister.
According to the NDC members, Hon. Ekow Okyere Panyin is credible enough and over qualified for his nomination as the Central Regional Minister because he championed a lot of the campaigns in the region and also has the youth at heart.
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in a letter nominated Hon. Ekow Okyere Panyin as the Central Regional Minister Designate.
Ekow Okyere Panyin served as two-term Member of Parliament for the Gomoa East Constituency and is currently the Central Regional Vice Chairman of the NDC.
His nomination has been greeted with excitement by residents of the Central region, especially Gomoa East, where he served as member of Parliament.
However, the Central Regional NDC Communicatons Officer Gabriella Tetteh on Pan Africa TV show dubbed Alhaji and Alhaji noted that she feels very disappointed that His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama nominated Hon. Ekow Panyin to come and hold the position as the Central Regional Minister because at the time Ekow Okyere Panyin was serving as the Regional Chairman when the Central Regional Chairman was suspended, he led the party to be divided.
Following these comments, the NDC Gomoa East Constituency Organizer Hon. Hassan Hamidu has held a press conference demanding for immediate public retraction and apologies from Miss Gabriella Tetteh.
He therefore threatened demonstration against the Central Regional Communications Officer Gabriella Tetteh because he believes the absence of public apology may lead to division in the party.
He thus pledged his full support for the Central Regional Minister Designate Hon EKOW Okyere Panyin.
Some members of the NDC in the Gomoa East Constituency adding their voice described Hon Ekow Panyin as Youth President and the only one who suits the Central Regional Minister position.
