C/R: NDC Constituency Elections 3 Constituencies At Polls 20 suspended

3 constituencies in the central region are at the polls today to elect executives for the respective constituencies. The remaining 20 constituencies have been directed by the party to hold theirs on Sunday, 23rd October, 2022. However, there was drama at the Gomoa East and Awutu Senya West Constituencies when delegates showed up but had the elections suspended or lack of ballot papers.

Meanwhile, vigorous preparations are ongoing in the Awutu Senya East Constituency ahead of tomorrow’s exercise.

Apart from the Upper Denkyira East and West and the Agona East constituencies where delegates are at polls to elect executives for the NDC, all other constituencies in the central region have been directed to hold the elections on tomorrow Sunday, 23rs October, 2022.

The Gomoa East Constituency, where the incumbent chairman Anthony Afissah was attacked by robbers on Friday night abd took away Gh40,000 from his car whilst on campaign tour as delegates were turned away due to lack of ballot papers after showing up at voting venues.

Also at Effutu, four candidates who were cleared by the appeals committee of the party following their earlier disqualification by the vetting committee had their names failing to appear on the ballots causing the suspension of the elections.

Meanwhile, vigorous preparations are underway at the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Kasoa where 2,615 delegates will converge to elect executives for the constituency.

Chairman of the constituency who is running solo, Stephen Ofosu Agyare saids preparations are far advanced and admonishes delegates and aspirants to be of good conduct at the elections grounds.

Also, Awutu Senya East NDC Constituency secretary Amadu Tuariq who’s contesting with 2 others spoke with the media the preparations and other related matters concerning tomorrow’s elections.
