27 yrs old Nigerian citizen Dery Winner has been remanded into police custody by Ofaakor District Court for stabbing his colleague on his neck to critical condition.
The incident said to have happened in Liberian Camp sub of Buduburam in Gomoa East District.
Sources said, the victim Nann and the suspect Dery Winner were arguing on something this morning in one of their Nigerian friend’s room in the the same compound which after the argument, the suspect went to his room and pulled out a broken bottle to stabbed the victim on his neck to critical condition.
The landlord, Nana Amoasi II said, the suspect was on the run but fortunately with the help of the police he has been arrested and was sent to Ofaakor District Court today which he has been remanded into Police Custody for two weeks. The next court sitting is slated for July 1, 2024.
The Landlord however bemoaned the increasing rate of crime activities in the area.
He is therefore calling on Interior Minister Henry Quartey, Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akufo Dampare and all security agency authorities to beef up security situation in the area to clamp down criminals.
Meanwhile the victim has been treated and discharge by the St Gregory Hospital in Buduburam.
The Victim (Nann) in an interview with media expressed his gratitude to the police for apprehending the suspect. He however noted that he finds it of no reason he should be attacked by the Suspect.
He says he never insulted neither did he steal from the Suspect. He says the suspect has on several occasions issued threats on him but he ignored the signs.
