A 47-year-old Head Pastor of Christ Mission Church at Jeju in the Mfantseman Municipality has committed suicide by hanging himself at Etii Sonkwa in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region after his wedded wife threatened to divorce him.
Information gathered indicated that the Pastor, Francis Hammond went to his hometown at Etii Sonkwa last Wednesday Morning to tell his father that things were not going on well in his marriage so he should play for him because he could die any moment from then
The Father upon hearing the bizarre narration from his son decided to call his senior brother who is also a Pastor to inform him but the deceased stopped him from calling his brother
The deceased further told his father to go to bed because he was also going to rest in his room, not knowing he was going to hang himself on the celling fan in his bedroom
The deceased father who is also a Chief at Etsi Sonkwa opined that his son committed suicide because of bad treatment the deceased’s wife melted out to him
“I was in the room when my son(deceased)came to my room and tells me to pray for him for he is suffering and doesn’t get any benefit from his life so I should pray for him”
“I also pray for him but later tells me that, his soul is in the hands of his maker but his body is useless on this Earth”, he narrated
The Father said, he called the deceased Senior Brother at Cape Coast; when he came, he realised that both the door and the window of the deceased were locked. They broke the door only to find out that his son has hanged himself
They reported the incident to Mankessim Jedu Police and the body has been deposited at Abura Dunkwa mortuary pending investigation by the police
According to the Family, since the incident happened, the deceased wife has visited the family ones and she was even in a hurry to leave the house
He left behind five children, three female and two male
