C/R: Senya Breku Demonstration, Chief Refutes Claims By Protestors.

The Senya Breku Omanhene Nenyi Ampabo Kweku Issiw VI has refuted claims leveled against him by a section of indigenes that he is anti-development. The Chief is calling on police to keep watch on the community to avert any possible activities that would disrupt the peace of the community. Central regional correspondent Akwasi Addo has more in the following report.

Some indigenes of the community staged protests against the Chief on Monday 19TH June, 2023 and claimed to have destooled him.

Apart from accusing the Chief of haphazard sale of lands, one matter that took center stage of the protest was a legal action taken against Winners Chapel over a land they purchased for the establishment of a university. But the Chief has denied these claims.

Addressing the media, the Chief through his counsel maintained that he still remains at post as the Senya Brekumanhene.

The counsel, Robert Ishmael Aggrey Fynn Amissah questioned the eligibility of the group that performed the rituals purported to have destooled the Chief.

According to him the Chief has no grievances against any sort of demonstration but is only concerned about the performance of rituals at the palace that which he described as sacrilegious as well as the firing of musketry and wants police to take action especially when the town’s Akumase festival is nearing.

He also explained that the Chief is a development agent but has had to institute the legal action against Winners Chapel because they did not purchase their land through the appropriate channel.
