In a deadly accident at Ekumfi Ekotsi/Bodjuano in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region, three persons died and 15 others were critically injured.
The disaster occurred about 4:10 p.m. on Thursday when a sprinter bus lost control and crushed a coconut seller along the road to death, as well as two other passengers.
The driver of the sprinter bus was suspected of dozing off while driving, according to information gathered by kweku Darko.
According to the report, after running into the coconut seller, the bus crushed into a tree, killing two passengers.
They phoned the fire service department, and on their way to the accident scene, their vehicle broke down ant this took them almost two hours to arrive.
According to eyewitness Joe Acquah, the vehicle’s tyres burst, running into the coconut seller and causing it to crash into the tree.
GR-6201-21 is the vehicle’s number.
About 15 people were hurt, according to him, and were sent to the Saltpond Government Hospital for treatment.
The deceased’s remains was taken to the Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
