Burkina Faso’s Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has congratulated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama on his projected victory in Ghana’s December 7, 2024, presidential election.
In a message shared on social media platform X, Captain Traoré lauded Mahama’s resounding success and expressed optimism about strengthening the longstanding relationship between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to President John Dramani MAHAMA for his resounding victory in the presidential election on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
“I express the hope that his term as the head of the sister Republic of Ghana will see the strengthening of the centuries-old relations of good-neighbourliness between our two countries and that together we will build a stronger and better integrated sub-regional space for the happiness of our people,” Captain Traoré stated.
In a related development, Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia officially conceded defeat on Sunday, December 8, 2024. In a heartfelt address, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the election outcome and extended his congratulations to former President John Dramani Mahama on his victory.
