Ahead of the Ant-Man and the Wasp; Quantumania, Marvel Studios has chosen to recast Cassie Lanin in the 2019 film.
Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie was played by Abby Ryder Fortson in both Ant-Man and Ant-man and the Wasp. However, due to Endgame, the role of Cassie required an older actress.
The decision from Marvels Studios to feature Kathryn Newton – not Emma Fuhrmann to play the role of Cassie Lang in Ant-Man 3 shocked a lot of fans.
Audiences are quite confused over the significant change in the casting of Newton in the threequel but the switch from Fortson to Fuhrmann did not quite surprise many.
Why Marvel Studios Recast Teenage Cassie Lang
According to Ant-Man 3 director Peyton Reed, time was one of the major factors in casting Cassie Lang.
The director also mentioned that before Cassie Lang would become a hero, she would have to make a lot of mistakes. Reed further disclosed that the role of Cassie Lang in Ant-Man 3 is important because she would be sharing the screen with a lengthy list of established talent.
What’s unfortunate about Marvel recasting Cassie Lang is that Emma Fuhrmann apparently only found out when the official announcement was made.
