Christian Atsu reveals joining Chelsea helped his career

Former Black Stars winger Christian Atsu has revealed his move to English giants Chelsea FC was the best decision he took in his footballing career.

The speedster rose to prominence after securing a big move to Chelsea after massive exploits in Portugal with FC Porto.

Atsu joined Chelsea on a five-year deal in  2013 for a free off €10m.

Despite joining as one of the hottest young prospects he couldn’t nail a regular spot, forcing him to go on loan before permanently leaving the club for Newcastle United in 2017.

The 30-year-old however remains adamant on his decision to join Chelsea calling it the “best ever.”

“Joining Chelsea was the best decision that I took as a young footballer and it was a step up for my career.

“Despite not having a wonderful stint with them as I expected, It was a nice experience to have joined one of the biggest club’s in the world”. Christian Atsu  said on his twitter page.

After spending four years with the Magpies, Newcastle United Atsu left on a free transfer to Al-Raed.

He recently joined Turkish side Hatayspor on a one-year deal.
