Four Fulani Herdsmen have raped a 13-year-old girl and butchered her father at Gomoa Adzentem in the Central Region.
This Immoral act by the Fulanis called for a massive demonstration by the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Adzentem this morning
The youth have mounted massive demonstrations and threatened to assault and kill any Fulani Herdsman they will see in their area.
Speaking to Obaatanpa news reporter, Mireku Nyampong, some of the aggrieved demonstrators complained bitterly over the rampant maltreatment by Fulani herdsmen melted out to the people in Gomoa Adzintem.
According to aggrieved youth, these Fulani Herdsmen have been destroying their farm crops and terrorizing them
Meanwhile, the Chief of the Community, Nana Obrempong Essel Andoh has lamented over the unfortunate incident and has appealed to the Inspector General Of Police(IGP) DR. Akuffo Dampare to beef up security in the area.
The Chief noted that the incident has been reported to the Gomoa Dominase District Police Command but no one has been arrested.
The Victim, Mr Kwabena Quaye who is the father of the girl narrated his ordeal on how the Fulani Herdsman attacked him and the daughter
He said, they were in their room last night that these Fulani Herdsmen bounced on them and asked for money and he told them that he has no money then they started beating him; dragged her daughter to a different place and raped her
Consoling with the Commuters, the Deputy Minister for Interior and MP for Gomoa Central, Hon Naana Eyiah Quansah has assured that those Fulanis will surely be arrested and prosecuted
She believes the acting IGP, Mr Akuffo Dampare will definitely get his men on board to smoke out those miscreants from the area
The Minister however charged residents on Gomoa land to believe in the police because she knows the rising cases of land destruction by Fulanis will soon come to an end.
On his side, the District Police Commander at Gomoa Dorminase in the Gomoa East District in the central region has charged the residents in the area to help give police information without fear to help bring these perpetrators to book.
