Two persons have suffered extensive injuries in an accident that occurred earlier today at the Kasoa toll booth. The two have been sent to the hospital and currently receiving healthcare.
According to eye witnesses who were engaged in a conversation with Obaatanpa News’ Mireku Nyampong, a speeding long truck with registration number GT 6464 N which was carrying two 40feet containers and heading towards the Kasoa toll booth veered off its lane and crashed a Toyota Vitz saloon car with registration number GC 8384-21 on the opposite lane. The account of the eyewitnesses also included the fact that a pedestrian was run over by the track before it crashed into the saloon car.
The Pedestrians as well as the driver of the saloon car suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby private health facility for treatment
The accident has caused traffic gridlock on both sides of the N1 highway and it took the police MTTD several minutes to tow the truck which blocked the Kasoa-Accra side of the N1 highway
Some other persons who also spoke to Obaatanpa News lamented on the rampant occurrence of accidents at that particular spot and attributed it to the poor nature of visibility during the night due to faulty street lights . They called for the urgent attention of the government
