Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, has been the subject of a surprising disclosure from Davido. He claims that despite Dangote’s enormous riches, he only purchases two cars every eight years.
The Nigerian performer revealed it in a recent interview with Forbes, where he also mentioned that the millionaire gives him financial advice. The musician, who recently performed at the Timeless Concert on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), also claimed that Dangote often counsels him to conserve his funds and refrain from overspending.
Davido said; “Uncle Aliko is a very different kind of billionaire. Uncle Aliko buys like two cars every eight years. He’s a very disciplined and very different kind of billionaire.
“Every time I see him, he just says one thing, ‘Save your money!’. There’s nothing more he tells me, every time save your money. He and my dad have been very close friends.
“And he Dangote has done well for us [Nigerians] back home. He made us a lot of industries. He just opened the biggest factory in Africa. That’s providing jobs.”
Relatedly, Davido recently set a new record with the release of his most recent album, Timeless.
He published the album on March 31st, and 12 million people listened to it on the first day on the global streaming platform Audiomack.
The first record to ever achieve those numbers on the platform on the first day of release was Timeless. In response to the announcement made by Audiomack Africa on its official Twitter website, Davido expressed surprise.
Audiomack wrote; “RECORD-BREAKING: @davido’s #Timeless had over 12 MILLION streams in its first 24 hours, more than any other album on Audiomack, ever! ”
