Fenerbahce defender Alexander Djiku along with seven other players has arrived at the Black Stars camp in Accra ahead of the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan.

Joining Djiku were Tariq Lamptey, Alidu Seidu, Ernest Nuamah, Majeed Ashimeru, Lawrence Ati Zigi, Jerome Opoku, and Abdul Mumin, swelling the camp’s roster to 19 players, with six more expected to join soon.

The team began their training sessions on Monday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium with 11 players initially in attendance.

The Black Stars’ technical team expects the remaining players, including those who received late call-ups, to complete the squad by Tuesday.

Ghana will face Sudan in the first leg of the AFCON qualifiers on Thursday, October 10, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the second leg set to take place on October 14 in Libya.

After a disappointing start to their campaign, having secured just one point from two games, Otto Addo and his side will be aiming to secure maximum points in these back-to-back fixtures to keep their AFCON hopes alive. Training continues today at 4:30 p.m. as the team intensifies preparations for the crucial matches.
