Don’t blame Okraku Mantey; failed creative art sector must be blamed on Akufo-Addo – Baba Sadiq

Baba Sadiq

Parliamentary candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Okaikoi Central constituency, Baba Sadiq is of the view that Mark Okraku Mantey cannot be blamed for the lack of attention and failed promises of the government to the creative arts industry.

According to him, the blame should be placed at the doorstep of the President who is leading the government.

He is of the view that Mark Okraku Mantey can advocate for whatever development in the sector but it takes the commitment of the leader to the particular industry to provide developmental projects.

He was speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM when he made this known.

“There is no strong will to say we are looking to develop the creative industry or looking to enable the creative industry. These are the big vision, these are the bold ideas we are seeking to do. Those things are not there so in that instance Mark is just a figure and he can’t do anything. I notice that people want to pick on Mark but if you want to talk, talk to the President that he had 21 promises for us and did not deliver on his promise. Speak about some of these things and stop saying Mark is one of us and he went there and could not do anything,” he said.
