The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development who doubles as Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has advised the media not to entertain ‘juju’ people in their studio.
The Minister made the admonishment when speaking as a Guest Speaker at the launch of Obaatanpa Radio at Kasoa on May 3.
The MP made known to the public that plans are underway to deal with the Juju men and other ritualists who go on television and radio to advertise themselves.
She lamented that some of the television and radio programmes such as the aforementioned ones are negatively affecting the moral fiber of society.
She added that young people crave to be rich within a twinkle of an eye because of what they watch on TV or listen to on the radio.
On his side, the Chief Executive Officer of Obaatanpa Radio, Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Affram promised the MP that his outfit will not air any programme that will have a negative impact on society especially the youth.
He highlighted that the mission of Obaatanpa Radio is to entertain, motivate, and enrich listeners through a wide-ranging combination of musical, cultural, educational, and current affairs programs and services.
He concluded that it is the vision of the media house to be the prestigious, dynamic, and vibrant service; one that stimulates people to look at the world from multiple viewpoints, and gets the most out of emerging opportunities to serve the audience and engage our community.
