The Proprietor of Stars of God Academy, Bishop Dr. Gabriel Oteng has urged the Government to develop schemes to support private schools as a practical demonstration of the high value it placed on the quality performance of that segment of the education sector.
Speaking to Obaatanpa news during the School’s 15years anniversary at Kokrobite Hills, noted that there is strong evidence that government seriously appreciates and values the contributions of private schools about which it should be bold and come out openly to support not necessarily with cash and provide incentives that will ease pressure on Private School Operators.
He explained that Private School operators services support the Government by accommodating some section of the Ghanaian students therefore reduction of some taxes and provision of essential services such as free workshop for teachers, Provision of textbooks at reduced price will ensure smooth operations of private schools.
Bishop Dr. Oteng observed that increased school enrolment should go along with quality teaching and learning for quality Basic Education Certificate of Education (BECE) results.
Bishop said private schools had proved their credibility through high standards, competitiveness and outstanding performances.
He said the quality performance of private schools and the access they continued to create for many children make the sector an invaluable stakeholder with Government in implementing its policies to provide access and quality education to children in the country.
On his part, the Stool Secretary of Kokrobite, Mr. Emmanuel Ahene called on parents to be keen about their ward’s education and pave a proper way for the kids to follow.
