Nyaho-Tamakloe

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) and national stakeholders to prioritize and safeguard Ghana’s peaceful democratic process.

In a statement released on December 3, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe appealed to key figures in the country, urging them to fulfil their responsibilities in ensuring stability and fairness ahead of the December 7 elections.

Addressing Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe emphasized the EC’s role in conducting a free and fair election, urging her to ensure that the process is carried out with integrity and without bias. He reminded her of the EC’s legacy of fairness, transparency, and impartiality.

“You are not the first to hold this esteemed office, and you will not be the last. The legacy of this institution has always been one of fairness, transparency, and impartiality”. He stated.

He also appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to demonstrate the same commitment to peace and fairness, ensuring that the EC and all state institutions act in ways that uphold public trust and confidence. He highlighted the successful elections of 2016 and 2020 as a testament to Ghana’s democratic strength, urging the president to maintain this standard.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe further urged the clergy, chiefs, and members of the Council of State to rise above their usual silence during times of national crisis. He called on them to use their respective voices to promote peace, accountability, and national stability, advising them to refrain from aligning with political interests.

To the Ghanaian people, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and prioritizing the nation’s future above partisan interests.

He urged every citizen to demand peace, fairness, and accountability from all institutions involved in the electoral process.

“To my fellow Ghanaians, I urge you to stay vigilant. Let us not allow partisan loyalties to blind us to the dangers we face. This is a time to prioritize the future of Ghana above all else. Our collective voice must call for peace, fairness, and accountability from every institution”. He urged.
