The Osu Traditional Council has called for peaceful elections on December 7, urging that the calm atmosphere of previous elections be maintained.
Speaking during the Osu Homowo celebration in an interview with Citi News, Nii Nortey Adumuah IV, the kingmaker of the Osu Mantse stool, stressed the importance of ensuring peace throughout the upcoming general elections.
“Ghanaians should replicate, repeat and do what they know how to do best. Generally, we will say it [our elections] have been peaceful. We should continue this way.
“It does not mean that our votes should not be counted. It does not mean that we should not protect our votes. It does not mean that the leaders we are expecting to lead us should not win.
“But we should do that with decorum. We should do that with maturity. We should do that with experience which we have used to change governments and also maintain governments. Fight and bickering, the unnecessary form of confusion, is not going to help this nation.”
