Manchester City have replaced Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table following a 3-1 victory at Emirates Stadium.
The reigning champions returned to the summit of the league by virtue of superior goal difference as Arsenal title tilt take a major wobble.
The Gunners have been on top of the table since November but have been knocked off after the defeat although they still have a game in hand.
Kevin De Bruyne put City in front in the 24th minute but Bukayo Saka levelled from the spot three minutes to first half before Jack Grealish struck midway through the second half to bring Pep’s men back in front.
Erling Haaland added the third to wrap up an emphatic victory for the defending champions.
City did not need to be in top gear to get the job done as Arsenal’s own misdoings partly handed the victory to the Citizens.
Takehiro Tomiyasu’s poor back pass gifted De Bruyne the opener while Gabriel lost possession to Bernardo Silva and it eventually led to the second goal. The Brazilian also conceded a penalty but VAR disallowed it for offside.
Mikel Arteta’s side have now lost three of their last four games across all competitions in this crucial moments of the title challenge.
