Eric Bailly Joins Marseille On Loan

Manchester United defender Bailly has secured a move to Ligue 1 side Olympic Marseille on a season-long-loan.

The Ivorian move to the south of France includes the possibility of a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2016 and played 38 games, winning the Europa League, EFL Cup and Community Shield in his debut campaign.

He appeared in United’s wins over Southampton and Leicester City at Wembley and was a crucial part of their European run that season, although he cruelly missed the Stockholm final against Ajax through injury.

Bailly began his professional career at Spain’s Espanyol, before moving to Villarreal. He spent two seasons at the club before signing for Manchester United in June 2016 in a four year deal worth £30 million and went on to make 131 appearances for the premier league giants.

He was the first player signed by then new manager Jose Mourinho.
