Erik ten Hag Condemns Ronaldo Leaving Old Trafford Early Before Full-Time, Labels it “Unacceptable’

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has objected to Cristiano Ronaldo’s early departure from Sunday’s friendly, labeling it ‘unacceptable’.

The Dutch technician was quoted as saying the following “Certainly not, that is unacceptable. For everyone. I told them that it’s unacceptable. That we are a team, a squad. And that you should stay until the end.”

The Portuguese superstar left Sunday’s friendly against Laliga side Rayo Vallecano earlier after he was substituted at half time.

There were reports that suggest it was ten Hag who sanctioned Ronaldo leaving the stadium before the final whistle but the manager’s outburst says contrary.

The 37-year old played the entire first 45 minutes where he failed to get on the scoresheet. He was replaced by Amad Diallo who opened the scoring in the 48 minutes. Alvaro Garcia Rivera equalized for Vallecano as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

He was later seen outside Old Trafford signing autographs for fans.

Ronaldo put in a transfer request this summer seeking to find champions league suitors but United declared he was not for sale.
