The European Union Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Ramiandrasoa Razaaly, was spotted taking a trotro in the capital, Accra, sparking different reactions.
A photo shared online by the blogger, Zionfelix, shows the moment the ambassador was ready to board a trotro.
Zion shared the photo with the caption: “EU ambassador @irchadr spotted taking trotro with his boxing coach, krom ay3shi,”
Being an unusual moment, the photo sparked heavy debate on social media.
Some said there is nothing special about it because public officials in the EU take public transport frequently whilst in Ghana, we have normalised our leaders travelling in luxury.
“In his home country, they take the bus and trains all the time. So this is not news,” one netizen said.
“See how we set expectations for our leaders? And then we are surprised when they live up to it. Your mocking EU ambassador for taking trotro. Your ministers will continue to use your tax money to buy V8. Then you cry corruption. We’re getting what we deserve,” another netizen wrote.
