Famous actor, Richard Kweku Asante popularly known as Kalybos has revealed the reason why some actresses and actors have been sidelined by some movie producers.
Speaking to SammyFlex on Showbiz Agenda on Zylofone FM, Kalybos stated that movie producers in Ghana ignore actors and actresses who start to produce their own content to generate revenue for themselves.
According to Kalybos, the producers recognize actors and actresses who have a production house as competitors therefore they do not have any reasons to involve a contender in their production, and that is bringing down the movie industry.
The popular actor made these claims when a panel member of the show known as Nana Yaw Wiredu suggested that, the actors and actresses should take it upon themselves to starts producing their own content since some of them understand the business side of the movie production than the previous producers.
He added that, folks like Yvonne Nelson, Ama k. Abebresse, Salam, Shirley Frimpong Manso, and many others were all sidelined by movie producers just because they tried to produce their own movies.
Furthermore, Kalybos contributing his opinion on the closed cinemas’ saga, lamented that the members of the Film Producers Association of Ghana ( FiPAG) should have been the frontlines in the “Open The Cinemas” campaign but he sees Kofi Asamoah as the only movie producer fighting for the cinemas to be opened.
