A fan has started a petition to get Erling Haaland banned from Association Football because “it’s just not fair”.

The 22-year-old forward, who joined reigning Premier League champions Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund this summer after the club agreed to pay his £64 million release clause, penned a five-year deal at the Etihad worth a reported £375,000-a-week.

And the Norwegian phenomenon has already repaid some of that transfer fee with a quite staggering start to life in Manchester. In his first 14 games under Pep Guardiola, Haaland has netted 20 goals in total, including three consecutive home hat-tricks in the league.

After tucking into his dad’s homemade lasagne, Haaland continued his ruthless streak in front of goal on Wednesday night with a brace against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage, while Pep Guardiola’s decision to replace the striker at half-time denied him another hat-trick.

The former RB Salzburg man will no doubt be a thorn in the side of many teams around Europe in the coming days, weeks and months but now, in a hilarious stunt to try and stop Haaland from tearing up world football, one fan has created a petition to make a change.

“It’s just simply not fair,” user Ten Hag’s Reds! wrote on the Change.org page. “We can make a change. Now is the time for us people to act. This robot should not be allowed to carry on in our country.”

At the time of writing, 18 people have signed the petition.

As we witnessed on Wednesday night, Haaland continued his hotsteak in front of goal and after the full-time whistle, Jack Grealish said FC Copenhagen’s goalkeeper questioned if the striker was human after he bagged a brace in Manchester City’s 5-0 Champions League thumping.

Kamil Grabara, Copenhagen’s Polish goalkeeper, was in awe of Haaland’s deadly finishing and following his second goal, he told Manchester City’s Jack Grealish that “he’s not human” after finding the net.

“It’s unbelievable honestly. I’ve never witnessed anything like it in my life,” Grealish told BT Sport after Haaland’s heroics.

“For the first and second goals I was just laughing. He is always there. The keeper said something to me as I was walking back. He said ‘he’s not human!’ I said ‘you’re telling me?’ Hopefully he can carry on this form and take us to glory.”
