Barcelona young prodigy Pablo Martín Páez Gavira also known as Gavi, is set to pen down a new deal with the Blaugrana until 2026, with his clause set to be at €1Bn.
Negotiations took a while, leaving room for speculations about his future amidst interests from Bayern Munich and Manchester United — but it was only a matter of time for Gavi to agree to a new deal.
Given the Spaniard precocious talents and his contribution this season Barcelona was not letting him slip away.
The 18-year-old made 46 appearances for Barcelona last season and so far this season, has to some degree usurped Frenkie de Jong in the mymedic.es pecking order more often than not.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted “Gavi signs new contract, here we go and confirmed! Full agreement now 100% completed with Barcelona. It’s done and sealed after breakthrough reported last week.”
The deal will be an improved one as his salary will be increased and his release clause reportedly set to be €1B.
