Ghana Black Stars defender Alidu Seidu has penned a two-year contract extension with French Ligue 1 side, Clermont Foot.
Seidu’s contract was due in two-years time but the new deal means he will now remain with the club until June 2027.
The 22-year-old joined Clermont Foot in June 2019 from JMG Academy based in Ivory Coast and played a key role in the team’s promotion to the French top flight.
He made his debut with Clermont in a 1–1 Ligue 2 draw with Toulouse FC on 19 September 2020.
This season Seidu has become a key member in the starting lineup for Clermont, having started in all their 11 league games and lasted the entire duration in nine of them.
He was on the bench when Ghana lost 3-0 to Brazil in a friendly and subsequently made his international debut against Nicaragua in which the Black Stars won 1-0.
