Sellas Tetteh, a Ghanaian coach, said that the money that his country promised him for winning the 2009 World Youth Championship has not yet been paid.

He says he was supposed to get about $4,000 when Ghana won the U20 FIFA World Cup, but after 13 years, he still hasn’t gotten the money.

“I’ve been talking with Kurt Okraku because when we won the World Cup, the technical team didn’t get any money. We didn’t get any money from them. It was written down somewhere. I talked with Kurt Okraku about it. At least they were supposed to give us $4,000,” Sellas Tetteh told Sports Obama TV in an interview.

The Ghanaian coach with a lot of experience added, “As for the players’ money and all that, they weren’t paid anything. They saved it for them in an account. I’ve talked to the people in charge as well as Kurt Okraku, but he’s been busy with the World Cup. I’ll try to talk to him and meet him.”

When the Ghana U20 team won the World Cup in 2009, Sellas Tetteh became a national hero.

He was sick recently, but he’s doing great now and he hopes that after 13 years, his country will be proud of him for bringing honor and glory to it.
