The Nana Addo led government has successfully awarded 2.billion contract to eight (8) local contractors to construct 4 by passes on the APEDWA Kumasi road.
Chairman of the Roads and Transport committee Kennedy Osei Nyarko addressing the press in parliament, stated that this decision by government is gingered by the numerous accidents and traffic congestion on that stretch.
He said the four dualize bypasses will ease the burden of commuters on that road.
Mr.Osei Nyarko revealed that, the dual carriage by pass will be constructed in four towns on the same road.
He indicated that, the first bypass which is 11.6 kilometers will take place at Osino.
The second bypass which is also a 6.1kilometer will be constructed at Anyinam.
The third bypass of 10.5 kilometers will also be constructed in Englesi.
The last bypass which he indicated will be at Konongo will be a 13.5 kilometer.
According the Chairman contractors are supposed to start work from the month of March or in the early weeks of April.
