Even though they beat Real Bamako by a score of 1-0 at the Ohene Gyan Stadium, Hearts of Oak have been knocked out of the CAF Confederations Cup second round preliminary round.
The “Phobians” got off to a good start. They took the first corner kick well, but it was handled well, and the ball went wide for a restart.
Real Bamako looked very comfortable with the ball, and they didn’t make any dangerous moves as they tried to keep their lead in the first few minutes.
Hearts of Oak was in charge of the game because they were the best at everything, especially in the first half.
The home team almost took the lead, but Isaac Mensah’s header went inches wide of the goal.
Real Bamako still looked tight in their own half in the second half, and they were not ready to let any ball into their net.
In the 60th minute, a good cross was sent into the box, but Kwadwo Obeng’s shot was just wide of the post.
The Rainbow Club used to play with a lot of focus and drive, but they always had trouble getting the ball into the back of the net.
Caleb Amankwah finally gave Hearts of Oak the lead in the 89th minute. That’s exactly what they’ve been looking for.
Even though Hearts of Oak won 1-0, they are out of the competition because they lost the first leg 3-0 last week.
