The Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has used three days of her busy days to visit the members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the various Cells and Polling Stations.
The 3-days engagement was to touch base with the party’s grassroots as she looks to energize and position the party for the task ahead in 2024.
Hon Hawa Koomson commended the party Supporters in the area especially the Cell and polling station members for their respect, love, and relentless support they are showing her in her twelve years as MP
She advised the party members not to rely solely on the central government for job opportunities but find something to do with their hands that could earn them a meaningful income and she is ready to assist them
She further urged them to turn deaf ears to the lies and propaganda of NDC people and ensure that they defend the government every day
On the side, an astute political historian who is the Constituency Deputy Youth Organizer, Mr Edward Addison, popularly known as Edy gave a historical antecedent of the Constituency as far as the Member of Parliament seat is concerned
Mr Edward Addison explained, but for the great effort of Hon Hawa Koomson, the seat would have still been in the hand of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
He stated, before the coming of Hon Hawa Koomson in 2012, NPP had won the seat just ones, that’s 2004 but Hon Hawa Koomson has managed to win the seat for NPP three consecutive times: thus 2012, 2016 and 2020
