I have come to realize that anyone who wants to make progress has to suffer – Wendy Shay

Wendy Shay has revealed why she has developed tough skin for criticism and has surged forward with her career despite what naysayers do retard her progress in the music industry.

The Rufftown Records signee appeared on the Showbiz 360 programme simultaneously with actor Lil Win during which she spoke about how she has been able to weather the storm to get to this point in her career.

“I have come to realize that anyone who wants to make progress will suffer these things as part of the journey. It is a stepping stone because I feel like when you rise above your trials, people respect you. When people come to understand that you are still standing strong after everything, you become influential. You give people something to look up to,” Wendy Shay.

This was in response to some accolades she got from Kwadwo Nkansah aka Lilwin for developing her profession in spite of all the criticisms from a section of music fans.

On Showbiz 360 with Giovani Caleb, he discussed the appeal of dedicated women leaving a lasting impact. The actor and entrepreneur emphasized Wendy Shay’s outstanding track record as a performer who routinely produces hit songs.

“I like women who fight to have something going on for themselves. Any women who invest in their careers have done well. So a woman who, despite all the pressures and insults, still pushes forward is fearless.

No matter what, If you mention female musicians in Ghana with hit after hit, Wendy Shay tops the list,” Lil win said.
