I started my football career with Paul Pogba in the 2013 U20 World Cup; Pogba is far gone but I’m still in my A.B.C.D – Ebenezer Assifuah breaks down

Ebenezer Assifuah, who plays for Ghana at the international level, recently said that he aspired to play at the highest possible level of football throughout his career.

According to him, whenever he considers how far France midfielder Paul Pogba has come in football since the two of them played together at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup, he is overcome with feelings of regret and sadness.

That is to say, whenever he reminisces about the progress or whatsoever, he has made in life in his football career, he feels the progress remains stagnated – thus, he’s still in his A.B.C.D.

“When I watch players like Pogba, Umtiti, and the others, it makes me feel so depressed. The reason for this is that we all competed on the same stage at the FIFA U20 competition that was held in Turkey.

“The difference between us and them is that their nation recognized their potential and helped them develop their skills.

“At this point, they have all won the World Cup, and they are still playing. But for us, the minute we realized we weren’t going to be able to win the championship, it was the end of everything,” Ebenezer Assifuah lamented in an interview with Original TV.

In the meanwhile, he maintains that he would have been able to score a significant number of goals for the Black Stars if he had been given a greater number of chances to play for the senior national team.

As a reminder, Ebenezer Kofi Assifuah-Inkoom is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Ligue 2 club Pau.

Before moving to Swiss club Sion, he played for Liberty Professionals in his home country of Ghana. Assifuah has been described as a striker with power and scoring ability.

On the other hand, Paul Labile Pogba is a French professional footballer who plays for Serie A club Juventus and the France national team. He operates primarily as a central midfielder but can be deployed as a left winger, attacking midfielder, defensive midfielder and deep-lying playmaker.
