Ghanaian player, Mohammed Kudus, has reacted to the classic bicycle-kick goal that he scored in West Ham United’s defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Kudus scored a goal-of-the-season contender in the final game of the season, much to the delight of fans.

Kudus’ goal reduced the deficit for West Ham United, who were trailing 2-0, with a sensational bicycle kick goal a few minutes before the end of the first half.

His goal turned out to be the only consolation for the visitors as they lost 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking after the game, Kudus said he wanted to breathe life into the game, so he trusted his instincts to score with an overhead kick when he chanced upon the ball in the air.

“As an attacker, I was doing my best to get us back in the game. It gave the team the needed energy so that we could be back in the game. It’s part of those times in the game that you trust your instincts, and I know I have that quality to do stuff like that because it’s not the first time,” Kudus said.

He added, “I am just glad that it went in, and it gave the team the incentive to get back in the game.”

The goal was Kudus’ eighth in the Premier League, taking his total goal involvement to 14, including 6 assists.

The former Ajax man completed the season as the highest-scoring Ghanaian in the Premier League, tied with Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo.

The 23-year-old ended the season on a strong note, scoring 17 goals and providing 7 assists in 47 games across all competitions.
