‘I understand the importance of the derby’ — Eddie Nketiah Upbeat About North London Derby

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has placed premium on the upcoming north London derby on Sunday as he expressed the importance of the encounter.

The 23-year-old has been on scintillating form since he was entrusted to lead the line for the Gunners after Gabriel Jesus suffered a knee injury at the World Cup.

He has now scored five goals in as many games as he continue to hold the fort for the Brazilian and is now Arsenal’s joint-leading scorer alongside Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Speaking to NLD Nketiah said “I have always been an Arsenal supporter and I joined the club at the age of 14. I understand the importance of the derby. I know what it means to the fans and we are going to give everything to go there and try and get 3 points.”

“I wish [Jesus] a speedy recovery. We want him back and we need him back for the team. For myself,I know what I can do, what I can bring to the team, and it’s just about working hard and giving my all to be able to show that and contribute”’ he added.

Arsenal will seek to go all out against their bitter rivals Tottenham on Sunday as they set their sights on winning the Premier League for the first time in so many years and also for the bragging rights in north London.
