I will not premiere my movies in Kumasi – Yvonne Nelson feels disappointed

Yvonne Nelson has disclosed she will not premiere any of her movies in Kumasi due to space and unavailability of cinemas in the regional capital.

Yvonne Nelson says she would like to premiere her films in Kumasi, but it is not possible. The Ghanaian actress launched her latest film FiftyFifty at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

Unfortunately, Yvonne Nelson fans in Kumasi will miss the debut because the actress claims that there are no cinemas in Ashanti city that she can afford. On Hitz FM, the FiftyFifty producer was interviewed.

When asked about her biggest obstacle as a producer, she stated “As a producer, I wish there were more opportunities to show my films. For example, on Saturday, I was hoping that the entire country of Ghana would be watching “.

However, Yvonne claims that this will not be possible because there are no cinemas in the country. “Because, as you can see from my comments, people are asking, “What about those in Kumasi?” What about us in the Volta region?’ We’re disappointed that the film is only available in Accra, “she said.

The host, Andy Dosty, pointed out that the Kumasi City Mall has roughly three movies, to which she replied, “but sitting capacity is like 60, 40,” implying that flying her cast and crew there for so low numbers would be a waste of money.

“When you consider all that goes into it, the logistics, the hotel… it’s business,” she added, “I’m not doing it to show off that I’m a producer,” therefore it doesn’t make financial sense to me.
