Gospel songstress Obaapa Christy said she won’t hesitate to accept a collaboration from Dancehall King Shatta Wale should the latter asks for it.
There have been heated argument among the gospel fraternity as to if it’s okay for a Christian to patronize secular music.
Christy speaking to the issue said it’s the message that matters. According to Obaapa, should she be approached by a secular artiste for a song together, she will first check if the lyrics are to the glory of God.
She explained that, the lyrics to their gospel songs are inspired by worldly experiences. The only difference is the God factor added.
Christy said she will do a gospel song with Shatta Wale anytime he asks for it because she doesn’t descriminate.
She believes where Christian must draw the line when it comes to secular music is the lyrics.
She made this submission last night on UTV’s United Showbiz with Mzgee.
