I’ll win Artiste of the Year again in the next five years – Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy

Reggae Dancehall artist Stonebwoy recently celebrated winning the esteemed Artiste of the Year award at the 25th TGMA. Speaking with Berla Mundi on June 7, he reflected on his past wins in 2015 and hinted at an unannounced win in 2019.

According to him, there’s a five-year gap between each victory, leading him to humorously claim, “I feel like every five years, I come back to win Artiste of the Year.”

He also mentioned his collaboration with Angélique Kidjo on the award-winning song ‘Manodzi.’ Following his recent win, Stonebwoy pointed out that the time span between his wins fits this pattern of every five years, suggesting he might aim for another win in the future.

Regarding the 2019 award, Stonebwoy expressed regret over the altercation that occurred that night, feeling he could have won the Artiste of the Year had the incident not taken place. He appealed to Charterhouse to recognize him as the rightful winner, emphasizing that he’s not demanding it but believes he deserved the award under fair circumstances.
