I’m in Ghana to find a wife – US-based comedian reveals

Kojo Anim

Renowned US-based Ghanaian comedian, Kojo Anim, revealed that his primary mission in Ghana is to find a wife, honouring his late mother’s wish for him to marry a Ghanaian woman.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, Kojo shared his struggle with speaking Twi and was asked if he had found a Ghanaian wife to help him learn the language.

He affirmed his ongoing search, promising Ghanaians and listeners that he is determined to wed a Ghanaian woman.

“My purpose in Ghana is to find a wife,” Kojo stated. “It’s important to me, especially now that my mom is gone. She always insisted I marry a Ghanaian girl, and that’s my connection with her.”

When discussing the qualities he seeks in a partner, Kojo emphasised character over looks, citing his admiration for role models like Dave Chappelle and Kevin Hart, whose wives understand and support their careers.

“I’m looking for someone who understands my work and culture,” Kojo explained. “Looks fade, but character and understanding last.”

Kojo’s quest for a Ghanaian wife resonates deeply with his roots and his late mother’s values, reflecting a personal journey intertwined with family heritage and cultural appreciation.
