ITALY: Juventus Docked 15 Points For Past Transfer Dealings Misconduct

Juventus have been deducted 15 points following an explosive investigation into the club’s transfer dealings in the past.

The Bianconeri have been indicted by Serie A’s financial prosecutor after establishing the club has violated the federation’s financial laws in player salaries.

The Italian football federation (FIGC) confirmed the news on Friday with former Juventus chairman Andrea Agneli banned from holding office in Italian football for 24 months.

Former sports director Fabio Paratici — who is now at Premier League side Tottenham, has also been given a 30-month ban from Italian football following the expose.

In November the club’s board of directors resigned from their positions to the surprise of many football fans.

The club’s CEO Maurizio Arrivabene has received a fair share of the punishment after he was found complicit and has been handed a two-year-ban, while Pavel Nedved is given an eight month suspension.

Juventus, who are likely to appeal the decision have denied any wrongdoing.

The Serie A giants were third in the Italian top-flight but have now dropped to 10th after the 15 points deduction.
