John Dumelo denies losing the 2020 parliamentary election

John Dumelo

John Dumelo, the candidate representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, has stated that he considers himself the winner of the 2020 parliamentary election in his constituency.

Despite not winning, Dumelo emphasized that his party achieved unprecedented results in the history of the constituency, leading him to view the outcome as a positive step forward. He expressed his determination to secure victory in the upcoming 2024 elections and highlighted that his team has formulated strategies for success.

However, talent manager and entertainment pundit Mr. Logic has voiced a different perspective. He believes that Dumelo’s demeanor is marked by arrogance and excessive self-assurance, leading him to think he is the preferred choice of the people. Mr. Logic predicts that Dumelo will experience a second defeat in the upcoming elections against his contender, Lydia Alhassan. He thinks Dumelo’s focus appears to be more on showcasing himself as a member of parliament to validate a certain perspective.

In the 2020 parliamentary election, Dumelo competed against the incumbent Lydia Seyram Alhassan, who was standing for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Preliminary results showed that Lydia Alhassan secured more votes than Dumelo, but he still views the election as a success due to the high number of votes he received. He has issued a caution to Lydia Alhassan, suggesting that her defeat is imminent in the upcoming 2024 elections.
